In winter I like to hibernate in my blanket and binge watch anything I can get my hands on.
Armed with a cozy cup of coffee (obsessed with Piccolos aaj kal!) and dry fruit, I dive into a world of shows and movies, moving between heartwarming stories that take me to cool places and thrilling ones that keep me on the edge of my bed. Without further ado, my (and Ami’s) picks for this week!
Kdramas have become increasingly popular in Pakistan where an eclectic mix of ages watch them with subtitles and delight. The latest fare in this is the Korean Drama called My Demon.A demon accidentally ends up on a blind date with a woman who reminds him of his “human side”. I know I made it seem like this is a simple story but like all Korean Dramas it has a lot of twists and turns. I don't think I can tell more without giving away something important. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Part 2 of the last season is out now! If, like me, you are a fan of this show then you, like me, will have taken a sick day from work to hunker down and inhale this drama. The newest season focuses on the people’s princess Lady Diana of Wales. She won Pakistani hearts and minds and many of our mothers still mourn her more than they mourn the arrest of Imran Khan! Which is saying a lot! The end touches on William and Kate’s story and the many excesses of Prince Harry before he met Meghan Markle. I love historical fiction so for me this was an absolute treat.

Ertuğrul and his family have been keeping eager viewers hooked on the screen. My nephew can now speak several words of Turkish thanks to this TV series. I can’t recommend this because I haven’t seen it yet but my mother breathlessly regales me with minute by minute description when i get home so it must be riveting.
Dubai Bling is also out with a season 2, we get to watch Pakistan’s very own Hasnain Lehri propose to Princess Loujain 'LJ' Adada which is the cliff hanger they choose to end on. The rest is a look at the rich and the famous in Dubai and how much their petty drama matches our own!
If there's a show you think I'd love and I haven't mentioned, drop me a line. I'm always up for some new recommendations. Until next week, take care and see you soon! Bye!
